General guidelines:

Complete all sections of the application form

Section 1

In this section will be the name and address of the person or company importing the material

Section 2

In this section will be the name of the person or company the material will be imported from.

Section 3

In the case where only small quantities (5 or less) are to be imported, the plants and quantities of each may be listed.

In the case where five or more are to be imported the space provided is too small to hold the plants and the quantity of each. In this case simply supply two copies of your list or two copies of your invoice. In the space provided write ‘plants as per attached list’. Two copies are required since one copy of the list will be attached to the application and the other is attached to the import permit.

In the case where a change is made to the order it is simpler to change the attached list rather than have to re-issue the Import Permit.

Submission information

Applications submitted electronically will be processed only if all information is supplied. Please call to confirm that the information was received and is complete. Plant Quarantine cannot be responsible for processing import permit applications that were never received!

Applications submitted by hand must be delivered to the Plant Quarantine Office and must be received by a Plant Quarantine Officer.  Plant Quarantine accepts no responsibility for delays in processing due to misplacement of completed applications. It is the responsibility of the importer to ensure that the completed application is delivered.

Tobacco

Applicants for the importation of Tobacco must print their National identification number (or passport #) on the top of the page at section 1.
