The Barbados 4-H Foundation was represented at the 1st Caribbean 4-H Food Festival held in Roseau, Dominica on July 17, 2007 to July 21, 2007.

The Festival was organised by the Caribbean 4-H Council.

Barbados was represented by Mr. Anthony Yearwood (Clover 4-H Club) and Ms. Lynette Phoenix (Holders' Hill Community 4-H Club).

The festival also attracted representatives from Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica and host country Dominica.

The three-day programme included the following:

* An Official Launching of The Caribbean 4-H Food Festival Activities

* Caribbean 4-H Leaders Meeting

* Public Speaking Competition

* Trash to Cash Competition

* Walk (with 4-H banners) from Pottersville to Harlem Plaza

* Opening of Food Festival

* Judging of Best Booth

* 4-H Talent Competition

* Closing Ceremony

The Barbados delegation thought that it was a useful activity and welcomed the opportunity to interact with 4-H Leaders and members from the Caribbean, and to display Barbadian delicacies such as Cou Cou & Salt Fish, Coconut Bread, Pudding & Souse and Pickled Breadfruit.  It is hoped that the festival would become an annual activity in the Caribbean 4-H Programme.
