Band leaders, costume designers and the general travelling public who intend to import materials of animal origin are reminded that they must first obtain an import permit from the Veterinary Services Department of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food, Fisheries and Water Resource Management.

Non-food animal products include but are not limited to those items listed below:

  • Products made from feathers, skins, hair, antlers, horns, hooves, bones
  • Loose feathers (as for use in costumes and craft)
  • Game trophies of wild or domestic animals or birds
  • Hides, skins, hair, wool

Applications for permits can be made at the Veterinary Services office in The Pine, St. Michael between 8:30am to 3:00pm Mondays to Fridays (excluding public holidays). Application forms and condition guidelines are also available on this website under the 'I want to Import Meat Dairy and Animal Products'.
