The Soil Conservation Unit maintains 8 rainfall data collection stations across the Scotland District and provide daily rainfall and other agro-meteorological data to the Caribbean Institute for Meteorology and Hydrology.

We provide land clearing and ripping services free of charge to the Land for the Landless farmers in the Scotland District when this assistance is requested by the BADMC.

Tours of the SCU Plant Nurseries and Field Engineering soil conservation activities/sites are offered to educational institutions, and other groups.

We assist in providing emergency haul-out services to the Fisheries Sector at selected sites along the East Coast.

Limited services of debushing and ripping are available to land owners within the Scotland District area only. Rental Rates for Equipment Services depend on the type of equipment used, the type of activity and the time required to do the job.

The sale of fruit and forest plants to farmers or homeowners.
